So I’m sure this has been done to death, but it’s the first time I’VE done it, so I hope that’s cool.

I have a tuned MK6 GTI that’s closing in on 60k miles. I got a great new job a few months back, and have some money in the bank, and I’m looking for a new car. I’d prefer new, or used with less than ~20k miles; still under factory warranty is preferred. Budget is in the mid-high $20s.

I think I’ll likely end up with a new GTI and have some fun with that. I’d love a new R, but it’s a bit outside of my budget right now. I’ve been shopping 1 series, but haven’t had any actual seat time in one. Toyobaru twins seem great, but I love the torquiness of my GTI and I feel like I’d lose that.

Advise me, Oppo!

Keep the car you have and save for the car you want. If it needs any work, have it done. And get it detailed. It’ll seem new.

Read my review of the COBB ecoboost mustang, and then go buy that. It’s amazing, RWD, and plenty practical

Save up to buy something outright or for a large down payment. I did neither of those got stuck with shitty loan.

Pardon me sir, do you have a moment to talk about our Lord and Savior FiST?

Seriously though, you can find a brand-new one for low 20's and very lightly used ones for even less.

Get a CPO E90/E92 335i. 300hp/300tq stock (closer to wheel horsepower than crank honestly) and a very fun chassis. Very tunable and the aftermarket is huge.

C6 vettes are getting pretty cheap.

They’re shockingly practical too if you don’t need 4 seats. They get pretty amazing mileage, and there is tons of cargo room under the hatch. I can get way more shit into the hatch of my Z06 than the trunk of my M3 or CTS.

How do you feel about RWD? And does it need to be able to handle track duty? If so, how often?

And whatever your answers are to those questions, you know you could always wait just a little, save a little longer, and buy a Focus RS.

FiST, FoST, Abarth, GTI, WRX, BR-Z, FR-S

All are available from $20-27k brand new. Abarth will put a biggest grin on your face :D

I might be biased.
